Former Special prosecutor Martin A.B.K Amidu, has noted that the Agyapa deal is the worst corruption scandal to ever happen to Ghana as he replies Nana Asante Bediatuo.
Mr. Amdiu made this known on page 3 of a letter addressed to the Nana Asante Bediatuo, Secretary to the President of the Republic of Ghana dated 26th November 2020.
On 17th November 2020, Mr. Asante Bediatuo responded to Mr. Amidu’s resignation from the office of the special prosecutor. In his reply, the President’s secretary, among other things, rubbished all the allegations of interference the then special prosecutor levelled against the president, especially in the Agyapa deal.
However, Mr. Amidu in his reply has maintained his claim of interference from the president while indicating that Mr. Bediatuo’s reply was filled with deliberate distortion and manipulation of facts to divert the public attention from the very important corruption issues raised in the Agyapa Royalties anti-corruption analysis.
He further revealed the Agyapa Royalties was the mother of all suspected corruption since Ghana gained independence in 1957.
Mr. Amidu said, “the Agyapa Royalties Limited transactions contains the mother of all suspected corruption and and corruption related offences to be discovered in the first analysis of he risk of prevention of corruption and anti-corruption assessment since Ghana attained its independence in 1957.”
