The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, in a TV appearance on GhOne’s GH Today’s show, dazzled Serwaa Amihere, host of the program, when he responded to some questions.
General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, responded to various questions related to the management of Covid 19, the Electoral Commission’s decision to compile new electoral roll and refusal to use the bio-metric birth certificate, the National Identification Authority skewed registration processes strongholds of the NDC and the NDC’s preparedness for election 2020.
The host, Serwaa, towards the end of the program posed queried when the NDC’s Flagbearer, John Mahama, would announce his running mate for the polls on 7th December, 2020.
She asked “Your flagbearer also has been accused taking too long to name a running mate. When should we look forward to that?”
In his reply to this question, the chief scribe of Ghana’s most elected political party noted that the NDC is the only party in the country that has an elected flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for elections 2020.
To allay fears about the delay, he suggested that all concerns should be directed at political parties who are yet to even engage in the first step of electing their flagbearers and parliamentary candidates then the discussion on running mates can be considered.
