Forget What We Said Earlier, No Request for Madagascar Cure – Info. Min K.O. Nkrumah


Government has denied reports that it has requested for Madagascar’s Covid Organics despite a tweet from the Ministry of Information’s twitter account on 19th May, 2020 stating otherwise.

However, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in setting the record straight, stated that Madagascar reached out to Ghana instead.

He revealed this during the regular press briefing on Covid-19, Thursday, May 21, 2020, where he denied government’s request for the medicine.

“We have not received the supposed cure from Madagascar,” Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said.

He further detailed, “what we have said is that Madagascar has reached out to us with their supposedly or suggested cure, and that we will test it through FDA and Centre for Plant Medicine before making a decision.”

The president of Madagascar last month launched Covid-Organics, a tonic which he claimed has the potency to prevent and cure coronavirus.
