President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended Ghana’s border closure until further notice.
This follows the expiration of a one-month extension the President announced on May 1, 2020 during Workers’ Day celebration.
For sometime now, Ghanaian citizens stranded overseas have mounted pressure on the president and his government to open the borders so that they can return home.
It appears though that such calls may have fallen on deaf ears as the closure of the borders remains fully in force.
President Akufo-Addo however says special dispensations are being worked on to get a number of Ghanaian nationals outside the country back home which will lead to mandatory self quarantine, if successful.
