The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) intercepted 40Kg of drugs suspected to be marijuana from smugglers who attempted to cross into Togo at Aflao with the consignment.

The syndicated small group of 6 motorcyclists were stopped by the Border Patrol Team of the Aflao Command when they embarked on using “Beat Eleven” – an unapproved route in the Ketu South Municipality to sneak the narcotics across Ghana’s border in the night.

At the time of this report, it is understood that the Aflao Command has already handed over the contraband to the Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) who have commenced investigations into this drug trafficking activity.
