Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the controversial Member of Parliament for Assin Central, in a rather unexpected move, has offered his own house as surety to activate the bail conditions of the embattled man of God, Daniel Obinim.
Angel Obinim was arrested and charged with publication of false news and forgery of documents contrary to sections 208 and 159 respectively of the Criminal and other offences Act, (1960; Act 29).
The Embattled bishop was granted bail some three days ago but still remains in police custody as he is yet to satisfy all the bail conditions stipulated, our investigations revealed.
In a bizarre twist of events, Ken Agyapong, the brainchild of the arrest of Obinim, expressed his regrets at the turn of events. He disclosed that although he wants the bishop to pay for his crimes, he is still saddened at his current situation.
The maverick lawmaker expressed his willingness to offer his own house to secure the bishop’s release. He also advised Obinim to be mindful of the fact that he has no genuine lovers as he has failed to find a third surety in his critical time.
The honourable MP was however quick to point out that even after Obinim’s release, he will still face the EOCO to answer questions of financial impropriety.
