President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo is utterly gutted by former President John Mahama’s brazen ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’ tag on his person and some selected members of his government over their involvement in the controversial Agyapa deal.
HE Mahama, in a Facebook post, shared opinions of the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga, Hon. Isaac Adongo on the manner with which a certain group of people within the corridors of power have carried out the Agyapa deal and stand to benefit monumentally from it.
This opinion espoused by the Hon MP and subsequently shared by the former president on Facebook (now deleted) has so far drawn widespread criticisms from chiefs, people and government functionaries including the President over its enthocentric tendencies, demanding that the latter renders an unqualified apology to the Akyem people.
Bemoaning the current state of naming calling and the politics of insults, the president, Nana Addo noted that the practice is gradually gaining grounds in Ghana’s public life which needs to be nipped in the bud while taking a swipe at his biggest contender, former President Mahama, for calling Akyem people Sakawa.
