Wife of late former president JJ Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, has pulled out of the 2020 elections.
The former First Lady is the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party(NDP) but the latest move means her presidential ambition has been postponed to 2024.
This comes barely 14 days to the December 07 general elections.
A report sighted on Kasapafmonline opines that the last-minute consideration is linked to the demise of Konadu’s husband, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings who passed away two weeks ago.
The reports further indicated that the NDP leader has informed the EC of her decision.
Earlier, Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah suggested that she bow out of the race as a sign of respect for her late husband and also for her daughter, Zanetor Rawlings.
Meanwhile, the party is scheduled to address a Press conference later today.
