NDC Risks Losing One Seat As NPP Files Another Petition


The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) quest for majority caucus in parliament has received yet another blow as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has filed a petition to challenge the Savelugu election results.

You would recall that party members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency vowed not to accept the EC’s declaration of Abdulai Jacob Iddriss as the Member of Parliament (MP) elect for the area, citing electoral fraud amongst others.

According to them, the manner in which the results were declared in favour of Mr. Iddriss was fraudulent and therefore, they would not recognise him as their MP.

In a related development, the NPP has succeeded in placing an injunction on the MP elect for Assin North, Hon. Quayson for possessing Canadian passport.
