Viral photos on social media indicates that some leading members of the governing NPP have taken to Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS) to carry out activities many believe to be campaign towards the 2020 December 7 polls despite a no visit ban by the Ministry Of Education.
On June 2, the Education Minister, Mathew Opoku Prempeh outlined measures which banned parents and guardians from visiting their wards in boarding school facilities across the country to protect students and teachers from the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.
Also, it would be recalled that the Chairman of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Michael Nsowah on 19th October, 2018 revealed GES’s directive to disallow the organisation of political activities in first and second cycle schools in the country, indicating that politicians had no business campaigning in senior high schools where more than 80 per cent of the students were below 18 and, therefore, could not vote.
However, it appears the directives by the government do not apply to its party folks as these big wigs threw the directives to the dogs as they managed to gain access to the school despite the strict guidelines instituted by the government.
The photos circulating online show NPP National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), Mr. Denis Kwakwa, Ashanti Régional Youth Organiser and other party people supposedly campaigning to some final year SHS Students.
