The government of Ghana will roll out an app to monitor religious gatherings and others as well, after easing the restrictions on social gathering.

This app will be keeping truck of events (gatherings) and details of persons who attend these events.

The Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful at a press briefing on Monday evening said the app, known as PANABIOS (Pan African Bio Surveillance Application) is to be rolled out with the intention of keeping us in check (compliance with directives regarding public gatherings.)

Madam Ekuful says, she expects the app to be ready in 48 hours. She further said a passcode or ss code will be generated for people to book for a registered event.

“Event organizers will have to download the application and register the event and venue that the event is taking place” she explained.

The Minister continued that, “for our collective peace of mind, every event needs to keep an accurate register of everyone who attends those functions so that when need be, you can provide that information to the health authorities and the can help you”
